”These Falls were named by a Scottish explorer Joseph Thomson in 1883. The falls, 74 metres high is fed by the Ewaso Nyiro river flowing from the Aberdare ranges through lake Olbolosat. The river drains into the Lorian swamp. Nyahururu is 2360 metres above sea level, making it the highest town in Kenya” Sourced from Thomson falls plaque.
They are located on the outskirts of Nyahururu town. It’s administered by county government and they charge an entrance fee of Ksh.70 for an adult and Ksh.20 for a child.

The fall can be viewed from the viewpoint or one can hike down to its base. There is a well-maintained stairway to guide you on the way down, it has 240 stair steps.
